THE
CAMERA has become an integral part of our culture. Like the automobile,
there's at least one in every family. And like the automobile,
just about everybody can use one.
But
snapping pictures is not photography. Photography is an art and
a science. It can be quite technical. This is especially true
for underwater photography.
Water
is an opaque medium. Available light is rapidly diminished at
depth. Currents, surge, and most subjects are continually in motion.
An underwater photographer must learn how to overcome the inherent
problems of the medium through proper use of his equipment.
When
you attain mastery of your camera and its controls in this unique
environment, you can unleash your creative instincts and create
photographic art.
Photography
is also a hobby. It's meant to be fun. We believe in teaching
a course that is simple and to the point. And fun!
The
school curriculum includes a variety of workshops and and programs.
Courses are designed to introduce, identify, and teach underwater
photography to those who have little or no prior knowledge of
photography, either topside or underwater, as well as to enhance
the skills of the intermediate and advanced photographers. Our
goal is to help you achieve images as beautiful as the subjects
we encounter in the underwater world.
