Joe Liburdi and Cara Sherman

Joe Liburdi learned to dive in Japan in 1952. He was told to "blow and go!" In 1966 he was handed a Calypso and told to" try this." He's been blowing and shooting ever since. The indefatigable Joe is recipient of PADI's Most Distinguished Achievement Award. NAUI's Man in the Sea Award, is an SSI Platinum Pro 5000 Diver, lectures, teaches, and can usually be found at his dive shop in Irvine, California, proselytizing the joys of diving and taking pictures.

Cara Sherman started out writing romance stories and Hollywood gossip. Her career as a writer, editor, and marketing consultant spans 25 years and three coasts. A native of New York City, she discovered Joe, scuba, and underwater photography in the chill of Puget Sound. Today she heads Underwater Exposures, the parent company of Orca Publications and the advertising agency for Sea & Sea Underwater Photography USA.

Joe and Cara put their heads together for this, their fifth book on Sea & Sea
